Iglesia Bautista Fundament Al La Gran Comision (Baptist Church "The Great Commission,") is a church celebrating the Baptist faith for the Spanish-speaking community of South Gate. The services and educations studies are headed by Pastor Jaime Morales. There is a church service every Wednesday evening and the official high service is held on Sunday mornings. Each Friday there are special classes and activities geared towards the youth members of the church. Bible study classes are also held each Wednesday and Friday nights for all age groups.
Human Services Association (HSA) offers a broad range of social services from its large facility near downtown. The company, founded in 1940, is connected with the Presbyterian church and offers services for both children and adults.
Classes for children include pre-school classes, as well as "Early Head Start" classes, which works with kids who are infants up to three years old, as well as pregnant mothers. HSA also offers parenting classes, teen pregnancy prevention and child abuse prevention classes. HSA offers a number of senior services like integrated care management programs and food distribution services.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international nonprofit organization serving to foster liberty, truth, justice and equality The F.O.E. is noted for having founded its "Jobs After 40" program and developing fundraisers for kidney, heart, cancer, diabetes, children's and spinal cord injury funds.
