The Shoreview United Methodist Church is a supportive, accepting church that welcomes diverse beliefs. Known for its vibrant activities and superb music ministry, the Concord United Methodist Church is very popular in central Contra Costa County. It was founded in 1952 by the Reverend William Fletcher Oglesby -- who was 82 at the time. The first "church" was the armory on Willow Pass Road, but a year later, the current West Street property was purchased. Sunday services are at 8, 9 and 10:30 a.m.
First established in 1869, Walnut Creek United Methodist Church is a community-oriented Methodist congregation dedicated to serving the families of Walnut Creek and Contra Costa County. It is Walnut Creek's first established church and is led by Senior Pastor Eileen Lindsay. In addition to Sunday's worship service and children's programs, Walnut Creek United Methodist provides the members of its congregation with several church ministries during the week, including Disciple Bible Study classes, Stephen Ministry support groups, Healing Touch therapy meetings, and a youth group. Walnut Creek United Methodist also has a strong music and arts ministry with a sanctuary and children's choir, hand bell choirs and an instrumental ensemble.
In keeping with Methodist doctrine, Walnut Creek UMC supports a number of local and global mission efforts including Harvest Table, Project SHARE, the Bosnian Youth House, and the Sierra Service Project. The Rev. Chris Owens Sr. is the pastor at First United Methodist Church. Located in the historic district, it serves primarily the Laurel area and four other counties. The church has an interesting history that dates back as early as 1840. The church has ministries for all ages.

East Cobb United Methodist Church, located off Roswell Road in East Cobb, offers traditional, contemporary and Kenyan worship on Sundays. East Cobb United Methodist Church has a Lighthouse child care academy and comes highly recommended by people who live in this area.
Its steeple watching over the city of Decatur, Decatur First brings orientation not just to lost souls, but also lost pedestrians. The historic landmark was founded a few blocks away in the 19th century with the erection of a log structure. It was soon replaced with a granite structure, and later needed a second location, the current sanctuary, to accommodate the rapidly growing population.
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month at the 8:45am and 11am services.
A certified ASL interpreter for the hearing-impaired is available during the 11am service.
Diamond Hill Methodist faith community in Cos Cob has been worshipping together since 1833. Sunday morning services are held weekly at 10am. Every other Sunday, children are invited to attend Sunday School activities during the second half of the service. Childcare is always available.
Bible Study for adults and young people is offered weekly on Sundays at 11:30am, following worship.
A half-hour Taize service of song, prayer and meditation is held every Thursday at 7:30pm. Attendees represent a number of area churches.
