Founded in June 2009, My City Kitchen offers recreational classes in cooking and nutrition for children ages 6 to 17. Chef Kashia Cave, founder and president of this nonprofit organization, is a graduate of the Connecticut Culinary Institute and the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her hands-0n technique teaches kids how to prepare and eat healthy foods from beef Stroganoff to vegan lasagna. Classes are divided by age group and kept small (10 students maximum) to ensure safety and individual attention. The menu and ingredients can be adapted for children with food allergies.
