The Purchase Free Library offers videos, DVDs, audio books, magazines and newspapers, as well as fiction and nonfiction for adults and children. Material not immediately available may be obtained through the inter-library loan system. The library is located in the charming old stone Purchase Community House, a local landmark.
The Purchase Free Library is a member of the Westchester Public Library system, and cards to the Purchase Free Library are accepted in all 38 Westchester library branches.
The Purchase library sits in what was the original Purchase Post Office.
Because the space is small, staff keeps a smaller collection on hand, but keeps it recent. Materials can be accessed from other Westchester library branches within a few days.
