A Better Place is a 28-bed support facility for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. It provides long-term residential care to maximize residents independence. Founded in 1996, the facility offers case management, nursing care, mental health counseling and drug relapse prevention services. It additionally conducts recreational activities and provides substance abuse treatment services. Located in New York City, A Better Place is owned and operated by The Doe Fund, which develops and implements cost-effective, holistic programs to meet the needs of homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals. The Doe Fund has been serving people for more than 15 years.
