Kenco was founded in January of 1973 by Ken & Karen Brown and incorporated in 1974 as Kenco Enterprises, Inc with Kenneth R. Brown as President. Ken had a strong desire to own his own company and to treat customers the way he felt they should be treated. With Navy electronics training and 10 years experience as an IBM service technician, Ken started Kenco Security and Technology and has remained CEO of the corporation since its inception. Kenco has experienced steady growth during its history. Today the corporation is owned by Kenneth R. Brown (CEO), Mark A Chaput (CFO) and Dirk Bauwens (President and COO). Mark joined Kenco as a technician in 1979 with an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology and 2 years experience with an electrical engineering firm. Dirk has also been with the company since 1979. He received his electrical engineering education from MSU Bozeman, prior to joining Kenco as the Service and Operations Manager. In 1975 the first dedicated Monitoring Service in the state was initiated by Kenco. Kenco has the onlyMonitoring Center of its kind in its service area (Montana and Wyoming) that is designed, built and staffed solely for alarm monitoring purposes. Kenco designs, sells, installs and services commercial and residential burglar and fire alarm systems in Montana and Wyoming. Kenco provides monitoring for alarm subscribers from its Monitoring Center in Billings. In addition to alarm systems, Kenco designs, sells and installs access control systems, intercom systems, closed circuit television (CCTV) systems, central vacuum systems, whole house audio, home theater and structured wiring. Kencos present position in the market place is very strong. By volume of monitored accounts, it is approximately three times the size of its nearest competitor. Kenco Security and Technology has offices in Billings, Bozeman, Helena, Great Falls and Cody, WY. Kenco has earned a respected name in its region by installing quality security systems and providing excellent customer service.
