Octagon Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization that promotes and consigns the work of local artists and teaches art to people of all ages. The community arts center offers numerous exhibits as well as a gallery shop and special events for patrons. The center also offers numerous classes and summer activities, including art camps, creative classes, art workshops, drawing classes, painting classes and more. Ames Community Theater of Recreational Services, also known as ACTOR, is a community theater that was founded in 1956. Located in Ames, Iowa, the theatre owns and operates ACTORS Studio, which is a performance facility.
