The Ames Community Theater (ACTORS) hosts a variety of stage performances for any audience, from family-friendly affairs to fast-paced farces and suspenseful mysteries. Founded more than fifty years ago, ACTORS has become a fixture in Ames. Home to the University's music department, the Hall hosts a number of performances and recitals throughout the academic year. Past performers have included Sonya Giles, Simon Estes with the Ames Piano Quartet and the ISU Symphony Orchestra.
Octagon Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization that promotes and consigns the work of local artists and teaches art to people of all ages. The community arts center offers numerous exhibits as well as a gallery shop and special events for patrons. The center also offers numerous classes and summer activities, including art camps, creative classes, art workshops, drawing classes, painting classes and more. The center also offers rentals for all types of occasions, including wedding receptions, business events and concerts. The center offers space for up to 175 people and also offers gallery space for rental.
Zeke's Live Music, Performing Arts and Community Center is a nonprofit, 325-person capacity facility which offers live performances by local bands. Home to a wide variety of audio equipment and a 15'x25' stage with drum riser, Zeke's is available to host weddings, receptions, art shows, nationally touring bands and other special events.
