Founded in 1948, Arthritis Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. Based in Birmingham, Ala., it is a contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants. The firm provides an array of community-based services, such as self-help courses, water and land-based exercise classes, instructional videotapes, public forums, brochures and booklets, the national, bimonthly consumer magazine arthritis and continuing education courses and publications for health professionals. Arthritis Foundation has partnership with (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (NIAMS) National Institutes for Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, (CARRA) Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance, to name a few.
