The Dreadnaught Hook, Ladder & Hose Co. was founded in 1874 and serves an area of approximately 10 square miles. The Dreads have 70 volunteer members that have formed a tight-knit bond. The company hosts an annual clambake, and were the overall Muster winners of the Bristol water battle in 2007, 2008 and 2010. The station houses Ladder No. 1 and a special hazards vehicle, and is in charge of Marine No.1. Engine No. 4 is also located at the station, but is a separate Fog Squad vehicle manned by four members, one from each local station.
The East Greenwich Town Hall, located centrally on Main Street across from King Street, was originally the Kent County Courthouse built in 1804. This building replaced an earlier Kent County Courthouse, which was built in 1750.
Town Hall houses most municipal offices as well as the Council Chambers, where public meetings are held.
