Lower Providence Township Volunteer Fire Co, is a volunteer fire company providing emergency services and housed in a 250 capacity chief's hall available for rental and capable of accommodating weddings, ceremonies, parties and other events. The company hosts parties, fairs and other fund raising events in order to support maintenance of the fire house and a fleet of nine fire safety vehicles.
Since 1847 the Montgomery Hose and Fire Company has been seeking to uphold their motto, "To Save Life and Protect Property." Staff and volunteers alike serve the community, ready to come to aid at a moment's notice. Though the company has had a few different homes and various equipment over the years, today it is found on Freedly Street with cutting-edge technology on every truck.
Since 1895, the Hancock Fire Company has been serving the residents of Norristown. The company has both staff firefighters and volunteers. The building was demolished and renovated in 2003, the renovations making it more energy efficient. The crew at the Hancock Fire Company assists the police department, EMS and other organizations as well.
