Serving the Jewish community of the South Bay in Los Angeles, Congregation Ner Tamid is a welcoming setting for those of the Jewish faith. The sanctuary is made of glass and stone and is unique in its design and sculpture. Behind the sanctuary are classrooms, a youth school and playground. Every Friday evening and Saturday morning, Torah study and prayer is led by Rabbi Isaac Jeret, Cantor Samuel Radwine and the synagogue community. It offers a toddlers preschool, CLAL religious school, adult and family learning.
Palos Verdes Art Center is non-profit community arts organization. It is involved with local schools and pre-schools and organizes tours of exhibitions, visiting speakers and gives scholarships. Visual art classes, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking, digital arts, art history and much more is taught here, and everybody from ages 3 to 103, and of all skill levels, are welcome. Small classes are taught by artists and art educators. Private and semi-private lessons can also be arranged. Terms begin in January, April, July and September.
Planning, building, and code enforcement all fall under the Community Development Department of Rancho Palos Verdes. Their purpose is "to ensure the orderly physical development of the community by upholding the goals and policies of the City's General Plan."
