Salon Roi is known to many Washingtonians as the site of the landmark mural of the legendary film star Marilyn Monroe, which graces the upper levels of the Salon s southern exterior wall, which was putted by artist John Bailey in 1980 for Mr. Roi Barnard s 40th birthday. The mural has become something of Washington landmark, reproduced in paintings and T-shirts, calendars and postcards. It is even a stop on the route of the Old Towne Trolley, a roving tour bus. Salon Roi was the first full-service unisex salon in Washington, and it is still at its original location for 39 years. In 1981, Salon Roi was named Best Salon by Washingtonian Magazine. In subsequent years, Salon Roi has continued to grow progressively, to retain existing clients, and to attract new clients of all ages. Our hair extension service adds creativity to your style. Our spa offer massage, manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, lush lash extensions, makeup artistry, and permanent makeup. We are also always looking for ways to contribute back to the community. We participate with Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides hair to children under the age of 18 who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnoses.
