UCP of Reston is an ecumenical church uniting in ministry four denominations: Christian Church, Church of Christ, Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Church.
Since its founding in 1973, UCP members has had an active membership and community. The church has many programs for all ages, as well as a preschool on the property.
Horizon Child Development is a school for early childhood education whose mission is "to provide a safe and loving place where children can flourish in mind, body and spirit." It serves children from infancy through school age and also has a summer camp program.
Good Beginnings offers an age-appropriate curriculum for children ages 2 1/2 through 12. The offerings include a preschool program, extended day, full-day kindergarten and supervised after school care. The center also features field trips, a summer camp program and dance and music classes.
Good Beginnings addresses social, emotional and educational learning in children. Its small teacher/child ratio encourages a strong learning experience.
Community Montessori offers programming for children between the ages of three months and six years. The school follows the Montessori method, in which children, given an engaging environment, pursue their own interests and projects. To that end, Community Montessori students have access to a foreign language lab, a computer lab and a music program, in addition to the wooded setting in which the school is located. The school features half-day, full-day and extended-day programs. It also has a summer camp program.
