JCC Early Childhood is an organization that provides educational community resources to promote a strong and vibrant Jewish culture throughout Chicago. It has several different programs and locations, one of which is the JCC Preschool at “Z” Frank Apachi. This is a ten month long preschool program for children ages two to four. Children are immersed in a natural setting on the wooded grounds of the daycamp. Students participate in wholesome lessons and activities, receiving academic education animated by Jewish principles.
Doggie Do Rite offers both daycare and overnight boarding for dogs of all breeds and energy levels. Before acceptance all dogs must complete an evaluation test. Once the process is completed, the dogs are free to enjoy the Doggie Do Rite facilities, which include an outdoor pool and play area. The Chicago-area network of Jewish Community Centers traces its roots back to the earliest years of the twentieth century when a group of young West Side Jewish men raised $250 to provide services that would help the approximately 75,000 Jewish people who had recently settled in Chicago, having escaped the pogroms in Eastern Europe. Bernard Weinger JCC is one of eight locations which now continue that tradition, offering recreational and learning activities for children and adults.
Z Frank Apachi Day Camp is a full-service day camp for children from ages 4-13. The Day Camp is affiliated with the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago. Camping activities including boating, swimming arts and crafts as well as activities focused on Jewish and Israeli Culture. The camp also employs a group of counselors from Israel each summer to strengthen the children's cultural connection to Judaism and Israel.
