Old Town School of Folk Music offers classes in several instruments. The school offers instrument rentals for both students and non students. Concerts happen almost dail and feature artists of all types. The school also features a repair shop, tuning, cafe and open-house Fridays.
This studio, with its expansive, richly polished wooden dance floors and mirrored walls, has been offering dance instruction in the Lake Zurich area for 32 years. Located just east of the Routes 12 and 22 intersection along Route 22, myriad trophies from dance competition successes are visible through the windows of the distinct lavendar-trimmed building. Classes offered run the gamut from ballet to tap, jazz, tumbling, contemporary dance, hip hop, tumbling and even yoga. Classes are available for pre-schoolers through adults, and for boys as well as girls.
Illinois Dance Academy is tucked away within this industrial warehouse. The academy accepts dancers of all ages, from preschool to adults. Guest instructors come in frequently to give students more specialized lessons from successful professionals in the field. The studios are also available for rent.
Foster Dance Studios offers training for many types of dance including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary, musical theater and zumba. The studio also leads the Foster Dance Company, where dancers get the opportunity to perform in a professionally produced and choreographed show in the spring. The company offers three different skill levels.
