Absolute Center offers a relaxed environment for workouts of all types. It provides private and small group training, group mat and equipment classes as well as space where individuals may workout on their own. This center features 4200 square feet of fitness and group exercise areas and a 1000 square feet room for group classes. It offers a full line of Pilates equipment made by Balanced Body and other equipment made by FreeMotion, HumanSport, Gravity, Keiser and StarTrac. Group classes are scheduled seven days a week and include Yoga (Hatha, Vinyasa, Satya), Cardio, F.I.T. Circuit, Pilates, Reformer and Zuma. Classes targeted just for teens and seniors are also offered.
The Impact Dance Center is a 7,000- square-foot studio with four dance rooms, a private music room and dressing area. For students who have to complete school work, there is also a quiet homework room. The studio offers dance classes and related services to children, teens and adults throughout the week. The studio is also available for rent.
Heartbeat House is a neighborhood dance and fitness studio in Atwater Village. Several classes are offered to members, including Community Flow Yoga, Zumba, Bollywood Dance, Hip Hop/ Cardio Soul, Latin Jam Workout, Samba Body, and Rock N Roll Pilates among others. For more than 25 years, Dance 10 Performing Arts Center has offered a variety of dance classes for all ages. Students are encouraged to try several types of dance. Classes are offered for beginners to advanced dancers to improve techniques and broaden skills.
Peninsula School of Performing Arts is a dance studio for young men and women ages 5 and up. It was established in the 1980s as a creative outlet for South Bay residents and has one other location in nearby Rolling Hills Estates. The school has classes in styles such as ballet, jazz and tap as well as acrobatics. Teams are put together to perform at various recitals. Adult classes are also available.
TENIA RAENI WORICK is an award-winning salsa dance instructor, dancer, and choreographer. She teaches dance lessons in Los Angeles and holds salsa classes and events all over the South Bay, including Redondo Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes, and Culver City.
Tenia has been teaching salsa for 17 years. She is known for organizing salsa events and fund-raisers to help build the L.A. Salsa community. Her classes have been featured in the LA Times, Daily Breeze and in LA Magazine’s list of the “101 Sexiest Things To Do in Los Angeles”. She co-founded L.A.’s first all-female performance team, “Stiletto Salsa”, has performed on stage with Tito Puente and is a featured dancer in television and film. She is known for hosting Salsa Meet Ups throughout L.A.
This is a small dance studio that has individual and group dancing lessons for those that are members. Entry is discouraged by outside individuals as it may interupt the time that each student is paying to be taught. Calling in for appointments is appreciated.
Building Kidz Preschool enrolls infants through pre-kindergarteners at its South San Francisco location. Its performing arts curriculum lets kids try music, dance and musical theater. Building Kidz has two other locations, in San Mateo and Pacifica.
