The Planning & Parks Department works to organize the natural resources in the area to be sure visitors and residents have the chance to enjoy the local nature, ecology and recreational opportunities in the best way possible. The department maintains Ozaukee County parks and trails and a few golf courses (including disc golf at Tendick Nature Park in Saukville) and plans for ways to sustain these resources as the future demands. The Planning & Parks Department is found on the second floor of the Administration Building, in room 220.
Ridgewood Care Center is a specialty care facility serving Mount Pleasant and the surrounding areas. The location is owned and operated by Racine County and offers numerous care services for patients, specializing in semi-private and private skilled care. The center works to care for the elderly, people in need of rehabilitation as well as those suffering from memory loss or other issues.
Come explore the history of Waukesha County with a visit to the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum. You'll find ongoing special exhibits, events and programs for all ages of interest.
The Research Center at the museum specializes in local family history with archives of birth, death, wedding and land records, plus many more similar type documents.
The volunteer staff are ready to greet you with directions and information when you enter the museum or when you stop by the gift shop. The gift shop has unique books, cards, games, statues, toys and candy for sale. It's always fun to go home with a souvenir of your adventure.
The museum also has an education department that offers guided tours, discovery boxes and an outreach program. Inquire about that for your group or students.

This University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension offers seminars, workshops and other similar educational tools for individuals, businesses and more. The extension deals with a variety of topics including agriculture and agri-business; community, natural resource and economic development; family living education and 4-H and youth development. The extension office is located on the bottom floor of the Administration Building in room 33.
The Racine County Administration Building houses several services for county residents, including meeting rooms for the county board and an office for state Sen. Van Wanggaard. The University of Wisconsin-Extension is also here, along with the parks and public works departments. An auditorium is available for use by groups and organizations.
