Created in 2003, the Carroll County Bureau of Resource Management combined the departments of stormwater management, forestry/landscaping and water resource planning. This bureau is charged with the protection and enhancement of natural resources, ensuring the safety of landowners and the public, maximizing taxpayer dollars and keeping the county economically strong.
Adjacent to the Health Department in the Robert Moton Center, the goal of the Board of Elections is to "administer faithfully and efficiently the election laws of the State of Maryland and the United States. In so doing, we will aggressively pursue the registration of all eligible County citizens." At this location, citizens can register to vote, learn about candidates, and find election results.
Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, with locations on River Road in Bethesda and Falls Road in Potomac, features a mix of volunteer and career firefighters. Responders are equipped to respond to a wide variety of emergencies, including fire and EMS needs. Cabin John's renowned swiftwater rescue teams respond to residents in need of assistance along the Potomac River or the Billy Goat Trail, a challenging path that traces the river.
The Office of Law, also known as the County Attorney's Office, serves as legal adviser to Baltimore County officials, agencies, departments and commissions on all civic legal matters.
The office is located in the Old Court House building on Washington Avenue.
This board consists of five members appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley and serves a semi-judicial function in administering and enforcing the alcoholic beverage laws of Maryland and the local rules and regulations of the Board of License Commissioners.
Located in a large office builing off of Columbia Gateway Drive, you'll find the administrative offices of the Howard County Fire & Rescue Department. The local Fire Marshall is based out of this office. If you stop by the offices, the security staff will require you to sign in and state clearly your reasoning for the visit.
The district court handles some civil suits, landlord-tenant disputes, moving violations, misdemeanors and some felonies. Any case in the state may be tried there, but its district covers all of Baltimore County. The court does not provide jury trials. No cameras, cell phones, food, drinks or electronic devices are allowed inside.
The Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center opened its doors in 2002 to serve a cluster of neighborhoods in East County, which include Colesville, Cloverly, Burtonsville and White Oak. The center includes the offices of the East County Regional Director, meeting space for community groups, a police substation, and The People’s Community Wellness Center (TPCWC). Its mission is to provide primary, ambulatory health care to adults in Montgomery County, Maryland who are unable to afford private health care and have no health insurance. TPCWC is co-sponsored by Montgomery County Government and The People’s Community Baptist Church of Silver Spring, Maryland.
The East County Community Center, located in the same complex, also provides many services to residents, including summer childcare programs, exercise classes and a computer work station. The walls and counters are littered with flyers and brochures on everything from local Little League teams and weight-loss information to anything that the center employees think may be informative to residents.
Although MCPD cars are frequently parked outside of the police sub-station, it is not the place to go for basic police functions like reporting a crime or paying a ticket. (You'll need to look on the department's website for that information). The station only serves as a meeting place and rest station for department personnel who serve East County and is not open to the public.
The Park and Ride is serviced by the following MetroBus lines: Z6, Z8 and Z11; and the following Ride-On bus lines: 21 and 39.

Montgomery County's Department of Health and Human Services offers support programs for children and youth. Projects include the "Linkages to Learning" program, which offers community services for children and families in the school setting. There are also programs for infants and toddlers and a childcare subsidy program, which provides financial assistance to struggling parents.
