The Miami County Sheriffs Office, located in Peru, Ind., is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property, suppresses criminal activity and apprehends criminals. It undertakes the execution of orders, judgments and civil processes for the court system, as well as provides court security. The Miami County Sheriffs Office supports and conducts several youth events and neighborhood and vacation watch programs. The office operates a detention center that houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. The Miami County Sheriffs Office supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of the program.
