Open Doors helps educate parents and prevent child abuse. Services include parent education, the respite and crisis nurseries, and therapy. The Crisis Nursery is an emergency 24/7 childcare service, while the Respite Nursery a service for parents to find child care for a short time while they run errands, go to job interviews or get much needed rest. Parent Education focuses on providing parents with parental skills and training, leading to stability in the home and lessening the chance of child abuse. Therapy services are offered to families, helping deescalate the chance of child abuse, improving mental health, strengthening relationships and preventing re-victimization.

The homeless and hungry, those fleeing their homes because of persecution, others fighting addiction--these are some of the people served by Catholic Community Services. For over 60 years, Catholic Community Services has empowered families and individuals of all races and religious backgrounds to realize their full potential by supplying the basic necessities of life, including food, clothing and shelter. CCS offers programs that feed the hungry, welcome the refugee, help the immigrant and serve the troubled amongst. Catholic Community Services has served more than 210,280 meals; offered day shelter for 324 days of the year; provided over 424 haircuts and nearly 11,299 showers; distributed more than 26,163 items of clothing to homeless individuals; treated 105 men and women fighting substance abuse; helped 410 refugees begin new lives and administered emergency assistance, including food, utilities and clothing to over 1,747 households. As a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake and located in Salt Lake City, Catholic Community Services serves people in need regardless of race, religion, disability or ethnicity.

Founded in 1978, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah provides a variety of services for children between the ages of 8 and 13. Located in Salt Lake City, the organization conducts various nationwide fundraising activities. It conducts various luncheons, fashion shows, picnics and campaigns. It administers a community-based mentoring program that serves more than 300 community members every year. Additionally, it supports a school-based mentoring program that includes recreational, health, community and academic activities. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah also administers high school and college mentoring programs. The organization provides several volunteer services and is a member of the United Way. It is a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, which is one of the leading mentoring organizations for children in the United States.
