Located in North Charleston, the Charleston County School District - Operations Center supports the staff and property of the Charleston County School District. It offers an accounting, archives and records and payroll departments as well as warehouse, maintenance and energy management departments.

Journey Church is a contemporary themed church of the Christian faith that takes a progressive approach toward "modern" worship, often through the use of multimedia, videos, technology and life-applicable teaching. Journey Church often partners with other area churches for the purpose of community outreach and has missionary programs worldwide; the church even sent parishioners to Japan after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disasters. Active children's and youth ministries are available, with numerous meetings and events throughout the week.
Vive Church was founded by its current lead pastor, Randy Knechtel, in 2009 and claims to be a “refreshing application of faith and culture.” It was born out of the idea that people in the Columbia area were becoming disillusioned with Christianity and needed a “different kind of church” because families and communities were becoming more and more fragmented. The church's mission is to "bring people to life." Vive Church is partnered with South Carolina Assemblies of God. It offers worship services and a children's church for ages 5 to 11 on Sunday mornings. Thursday nights feature Element, a weekly meeting for students in sixth through 12th grade.
Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church is known for its local, national and international community service as well as one of the most prestigious private academies in the area: Mitchell Road Academy, for kids in grades K–6.
Westminster Presbyterian Church is a large, beautiful facility with a welcoming congregation. It offers worship services, Sunday school, adult and youth ministries, and daycare on Sunday mornings.
Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library is part of the Pickens County Library System. The large library offers books, video and audio materials to borrow. Free Internet access is provided on site. The establishment is located north of Calhoun Memorial Highway.
Dorchester County Library is a family oriented library. It's kid friendly, sponsors a book club and has a bookmobile. It also has access to a wide variety of online databases. It also offers wi-fi.
