The Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business organization that offers ways for business leaders to come together through planned events and activities.
The chamber offers opportunities for networking at its Business After Hours meetings and luncheons and a benefits package for small businesses. The monthly luncheons are hosted by a professional business speaker and it's a great time to bring business cards for making face to face connections.
"You'll find a lot of people grew up here, went to school here, and they're still here and opened a business here," Laura Petrella said.
The misson: the chamber of commerce activly promotes a partnership of business and community succeeding together.
Since 1937, the Lake Humane Society has operated as a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals in the local and surrounding metropolitan areas. The society provides a caring haven for homeless, abandoned and injured animals.Through donations, the Lake Humane Society is able to offer adoptions, a spray and neutering program, cuelty investigations and pet therapy. Visitors are welcome to stop in and adopt an animal, shop at the pet supply store or drop of donations.
The Church of Christ is a non-denominational church with services at 10:30am and 6pm on Sunday, as well as Bible study at 7pm on Wednesday. The pastor at the Church of Christ is Marc Addison. The church runs a food bank that is open from 9 to 11am on Wednesdays and Fridays. Members of the church also started the Love Bear program. They make and decorate bears, which are then given to children in hospitals and soldiers.
Goodwill Industries' Shaker Heights location offers employment and training services. Goodwill Industries provides employee skill development services, such as vocational evaluation, work adjustment, career counseling and more. Goodwill Industries has employment programs that help individuals who either are unemployed or ex-criminal offenders.
