The Independent Baptist Church is a strikingly visible church located off Boughton Road about halfway between Schmidt Road and Route 53. With a moderately-sized congregation, the church stands on the same ground as its original site, which fell victim to an arsonist attack in March 1989.
On top of its Sunday services, the church also offers Sunday School for all ages at 6pm, and a weekday Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, as well as ministries for youth and adults alike.
Trinity Lutheran Church has a history stretching back over 100 years, having been founded in 1891 in Evanston by a group of 22 Scandinavian immigrants. Today, more than 700 baptized members belong to the congregation. Trinity's current sanctuary on Golf Road was finished and dedicated on October 19, 1952. The building is hearing-loop-equipped and offers childcare for Sunday services. Programs include an outreach initiative to Northern Ireland that brings Irish teenagers to Evanston for a week, as well as Bible study, Bible camp, yoga and weight loss, and groups for seniors. Located on a gorgeous plot of land in Barrington Hills, Hooved Animal Rescue & Protection (HARPS) opened its doors to rescue and rehabilitate farm animals in 2001. The nonprofit organization was founded by Donna Ewing, who is the founder and former director of the Hooved Animal Humane Society. HARPS runs exclusively on donations and volunteers. The River Forest Public Library boasts access to "thousands of materials including books, periodicals, music, movies and online research databases."
The RFPL is a member of SWAN, an association of 80 area libraries that share material with other member libraries. The system's goal is to provide access to hundreds of thousands of materials.
The library provides phot0copy and fax machines, a typewriter and offers a range of services for residents, including material delivery to homebound residents and test proctoring.
Oh, and the WiFi here is free and unlimited.
The library is governed by a seven-member Library Board, which meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.
St. James Armenian Church Evanston has served the largest concentration of the Armenian community in Chicago since 1944. The parish is located in the heart of downtown at the doorstep of the University. Its diverse congregation numbers about 200 people from all corners of the Armenian world--Turkey, the Middle East and the Republic of Armenia--as well as many downtown professionals and families who are third and fourth generation in the parish. St. James offers an active Sunday School and young adults group (ACYOA) as well as a Women's Guild and its Kousan Choir. The parish is best known as host of Evanston's annual Taste of Armenia Festival which draws more than 2,500 people of all ethnic backgrounds for a leisurely day of charcoal-grilled kebab and home-cooked Armenian delicacies, live music for dancing, special cultural presentations and games for the kids.
The Falcon Park Recreation Center, which opened in January 2010, includes an indoor turf field that can be used for soccer, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, and a running track. The center also provides rooms for various classes that can also be rented for private events and parties.
The 22,000 square-foot store sells clothes, electronics, home goods, furniture, sporting goods, books and movies, among other items.

There's a designated area with picnic benches and outdoor grills for barbecuing and get-togethers.
The Arndt Park fieldhouse is available for rental. It has a kitchen and large room (long tables and chairs are available) perfect for meetings, parties and special events.
The park is located at the corner of White Street and Howard Avenue.
At Jay's Camp, kids are able to have a unique and fun experience. The programs at the camp are made specifically for each age group. The youngest program is for the "Little Rascals," ages 4-5, followed by the "Adventurer's Program" for boys and girls in Kindergarten and 1st grade. In addition there is the "All-Stars Sports Fantasy Camp" for boys from 2nd to 6th grade, and also a special activities camp for girls from 2nd to 7th grade. Lastly, Jay's camp offers the "Tween Scene Experience," a co-ed camp for boys and girls from 5th to 9th grade. Jay's Camp offers a large number of activities, such as swimming, water games, sports and much more.
The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation is committed to creating educational awareness and preserving the visual character of the history of Lake Forest.
