American Legion Post 1976 is the headquarters for the Ladies of the Auxiliary and the members of the Sons of the American Legion. The group is dedicated to advancing the ideals of The American Legion and supporting the community of Annadale. The facility here features a social quarters, office spaces, a conference room and The Tom Weston Memorial Hall. Membership here requires past service in the Navy, Army, Marine Corps or Air Force of the United States of America and assigned to active duty at some point during service. Wakefield Senior Center, established in 1985, is located in the Audrey Moore Center at Wakefield Park.  The center serves seniors of the community who are 55 years old or more. Programs include guest speakers, who discuss a range of topics from nutrition to medication, classes, such as yoga, and entertainment. There are also periodic visits from CVS, a Fairfax County Public School Representative, and Capital Hospice. Every last Friday of the month birthdays within that month are celebrated at the center.
