Established in 1979, the Serendipity Center is one of the largest and oldest private, nonprofit mental health, education, and child and family support center in Portland, Ore. It is a therapeutic school for special needs students between the ages of 5 and 21. It offers programs for students suffering from difficulties, such as academic skill deficits, poor social skill development, anger and aggression problems and family issues.
