Berkeley, a coeducational college specializing in business, has a campus in Paramus. The campus is located near entrances to Route 17 and the Garden State Parkway. For working students, the college offers flexible scheduling and online classes.
Brookdale Community College is the county college of Monmouth County.
Its main campus was built in the late 1960s on land donated by the Thompson family, who also donated the land that would ultimately become Thompson Park.
Brookdale is a fully-accredited associate's degree college, offering a full line of courses for students to choose from. Study options include accreditation courses for nursing and mechanics, as well as college preparatory courses in such areas as English, math, social studies, fine arts and technology.
Scholarships and financial aid are available to students at the school, which offers an open-enrollment policy.
Located on a property spanning more than 250 acres, the college has seen multiple renovations over the past 10 years, including revamps of its library and theater, as well as the construction of the Larrison Hall for the humanities.
The school also recently completed construction on a 9,000-square-foot fitness center and 1,500-seat arena. The main campus is currently home to the Monmouth Museum, High Technology High School and Brookdale's radio station, 90.5FM, "The Night."
Established in 1968, the Long Valley Christian Nursery School is held in the Zion Lutheran Church at the bottom of Schooley's Mountain. Many students from the neighboring towns of Chester, Hackettstown, Mendham, Califon and Tewksbury attend the school, as do Long Valley residents. The school includes 14 teachers and assistants to instruct and supervise students.
