The University of the Cumberlands has more than 1,700 students and over 200 faculty members. It has a more than 70-acre campus that includes 32 buildings and two sports field complexes. The student and faculty ratio of the university is 16 to 1. The art courses offered by the university are advanced sculpture, painting, Gothic and modern art. The University of the Cumberlands provides a religion and philosophy department that offers a full range of courses in biblical studies, languages, church-related ministry, world religions, preaching and Christian ethics. Additionally, it provides bachelor s and master s degrees in various subjects, including psychology, chemistry, military science, business administration, political science, music and biology. Additionally, it offers distance education courses for students. The University of the Cumberlands also offers various sports activities, including hockey, tennis, wrestling and football. The university has accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
