The State College of Florida (SCF) is an educational institution, whose 10-acre Lakewood Ranch Campus is located on Professional Parkway in Sarasota. The school offers various types of bachelors and associates degree programs and both credit and noncredit classes. It features a 30,000-sqare-foot Center for Innovation & Technology, which includes flexible meeting rooms and technology-equipped classrooms that make it popular as a training and seminar site for businesses and non-profit organizations. The campus also includes a two-story, 42,000-square-foot educational building that houses nursing, health, education and SCF’s new Energy Technology Management programs. The center is SCF's first green certified building.
Inside the Bishop Nivens Academy and off Fruitville Road and McIntosh lies St. Martha Catholic School. The school serves children of all faiths from Pre-K through 8th grade. The school and its Christ-centered curriculum have been in Sarasota since 1950.

The East West College of Natural Medicine is located on North Tamiami Trail in the Newtown District. It offers professional college degrees, including a Bachelor of Professional Health Sciences and Master's of Science in Oriental Medicine. It awards both degrees simultaneously. Classes include anatomy, herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, biomedical science courses and homoeopathy. Everglades shares its campus, which is located east of I-75, with Keiser University. Everglades offers alternative medicine, construction management, business administration, applied management, aviation technology and aviation management undergraduate programs. It has two graduate programs; business administration and aviation science.
