Home of the Cardinals, Laguna Creek High School has an ethnically diverse student body. The school recently became part of the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, which offers internationally-recognized diplomas with an emphasis on global studies.
Recent scores on state achievement tests show students at Laguna Creek performing near the district and state average in language arts, but well below average in math. Concern about the achievement gap among demographic groups led parents to form a Concerned African American Parent Group several years ago to provide extra support for students of color.
The school operates four career academies, including one of the state's first Green Technology Academies, which trains students for careers in solar energy and other environmentally friendly industries. School facilities include a theater, dance room, gyms, library and two computer labs.
