Office duties for the Barrow County Board of Elections and Registration, housed in the county administration building, are handled by three full time county employees responsible for overseeing voter registration and the election process. The five-member board that meets monthly consists of two appointees from the Republican Party, two appointees from the Democratic Party and one appointee made by the Chief Judge of the Superior Court. The board is responsible for setting office policy. Barrow County's elections supervisor is Katherine Ferm.

Lost Mountain Tennis Center is an athletic complex located on Dallas Highway in Powder Springs, offering public tennis courts for the community. The facility is owned by the Cobb County Parks Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department, and offers 12 lighted hard courts and a pro-shop building. The center has tennis classes, camps, ball machine rentals, cardio classes, specialized leagues, and summer programs. The county's Board of Commissioners holds its work sessions at 10 am on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, while regular board meetings are held at 2pm the second Tuesday and 7pm on the fourth Tuesday. Meetings are held in the commissioner's board room on the second floor of the Watson Government Complex at 240 Constitution Blvd. Meetings are open to the public. Members of the public wishing to address the board during a meeting must submit their name and topic of their comments to the board chairman by 5pm on the Friday preceding the board's next scheduled meeting; those who sign up will be given five minutes to make their comments, which must be limited to their chosen topic.
Cobb County Sweat Mountain Park offers residents three baseball fields, batting cages, two practice fields, four tennis courts, a playground, a picnic pavilion, a concession building and a dog park. There is an area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs weighing 30 pounds or less. The park has benches conveniently located for dog owners to sit and enjoy watching their pets play.
This park is located at the end of Old Peachtree Road, where it meets Rock Springs Road. Some of its highlights include a football field surrounded by a lighted walking track, six tennis courts, and a two-mile, paved hiking trail.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) offers consular, commercial and informational services to American businesses and organizations in the southeast regarding Taiwan. The office is also a center of academic research and serves as a hub for American and Taiwanese investors. TECO hosts cultural events such as performances by the Taipei Chinese Orchestra and business events such as the Atlanta Commercial Division’s Antitrust Seminar.
In addition to study and reading space, the library offers a variety of programs for adults and children. Currently the library holds Spanish, ESL and yoga classes. Children's activities have included story time, craft and educational programs, a petting zoo, puppeteer and magician performances. Computers are available for use with a limit of two 55-minute sessions per person. And a free meeting room is available for events that are open to the public
