Located in the former Odd Fellows Hall, the Immigrant Learning Center offers free English classes to refugees and new immigrants to the region. The goal is to help these newcomers adjust culturally, become more employable and to better engage with their community.

The center includes a guidance counselor to help students with housing, healthcare and other life choices. It also conducts research and hosts seminars on topics such as the economic benefits of immigration.

The Malden WIC Program office is located in the Hallmark Health Building on Commercial Street. WIC is a government backed program that provides supplemental nutrition assistance for pregnant and post-partum women and infants and children up to age five. WIC provides vouchers for basic food items such as milk, cheese, cereal, eggs, fruits and vegetables. This supplemental assistance is based upon family size and income. However, all women who are mothers or moms-to-be are encouraged to apply for WIC. The staff also offers nutritional consultations and classes and instruction in parenting and breast-feeding.
