Founded in 1967, The Tennessee Cable Telecommunications Association ( TCTA ) serves as the trade association for the cable telecommunications industry in Tennessee. TCTA provides government relations and public relations support for the cable industry. TCTA represents cable operators and cable programmers, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other products to the cable industry, before the Tennessee General Assembly, the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, the Tennessee Congressional Delegation, and in local, state, and federal legal and public relations matters. TCTA also monitors legislation on the local, state, and national levels to keep our members informed of current developments. Through the leadership of the TCTA and the support of our members, we have protected the common interests of the cable industry, including enactment of fair state franchise and telephone deregulation laws, strong signal theft laws, restrictions on government-run cable companies and tracking of their activities, and minimum taxation on all lines of business.
