National 4-H Council is the private sector, nonprofit partner of 4-H and the Cooperative Extension System. It offers various programs, including after school, rural youth development, and health, wellness and safety. It also offers environmental stewardship program, which includes understanding of ecological concepts, building an awareness of environmental issues and values, developing scientific investigatory and critical thinking skills and learning skills. National 4-H Council offers services in health education issues, including chemical health, mental and emotional health, food and nutrition, and physical health and safety. The council also offers various awards, including Lifetime Volunteer and Youth Environmental awards. Additionally, it has a youth welfare center. National 4-H Council s corporate partners include MetLife Foundation, Cargill, Monsanto Imagine and New York Life Foundation. The council is located in Chevy Chase, Md.
