This authentic Brazilian restaurant offers up quick meals morning, noon and night. Several cooks man the bubbling steam trays and pile plates high with grilled meats, rice, beans and plantains. If customers don't speak Spanish or Portuguese, they will need to resort to pointing to indicate food choices. Freshly made Brazilian baked goods are stacked, in individual Ziplocs, by the coffee pots and Latin American soda cases.
From opening to close, there is a steady stream of locals in and out of Classic 1 Pizza, ordering slices, subs and grinders. The eatery's dedicated following take their meals in the comfy, classic dining room. Specials change frequently, and the pulled pork pizza is a showstopper.
Oasis is a very special place indeed. At any time of day, you can find Brazilian construction workers in mud-splattered clothing, Tufts students in pastels and plaid, cops in uniform and just about anyone who enjoys heaping portions of Brazilian BBQ, called churrasco. There is a buffet on week nights, while at other times your meal is priced by weight. There is limited free parking due to Oasis's popularity, but diners would climb mountains, not to mention wait for a parking place, for these succulent cuts of meat.
At this casual churrascaria (AKA: Brazilian BBQ), piles of deliciously grilled meats, stews, beans and fried plantains simmer on a long buffet line. Also offered here are freshly-made desserts, large quantities of fresh-cut fruit and Brazilian sodas. There is ample seating at marble-topped tables, but be aware that at this locals haunt, the staff only speaks Portuguese.
Interestingly, this diner was built by the Worcester Lunchcar Company in 1942 and originally located in Orange, MA (where it was called Whit's Diner) before being brought to its present location. Lloyd's Diner has been in this location for many years. It was taken over by a local Brazilian couple in 2010. It is now also known as the Tropical Cafe.
Open from early morning to late evening seven days a week, this diner is a very popular local eatery. On the menu you'll find a traditional breakfast items such as eggs benedict in the morning. For lunch and dinner, you'll find a mix of American choices and Brazilian fare. This includes deep fried snacks and several rice and beans entrees.
