The Vermont Expos are the baseball team affiliated with the New York-Penn League that won the League Championship in 1996. The team has been a member of the Washington Nationals baseball system since 2005. During the past 11 seasons, the Vermont Expos have compiled a 406-win 429-loss record, including a 48 - 26 record and its championship win. The mascot of the Vermont Expos is CHAMP, a sea monster who is reported to live in Lake Champlain. French Explorer Samuel de Champlain, in the lake that bears his name, first sighted CHAMP in 1609. The teams home games are played at Centennial Field, on the campus of the University of Vermont.

Founded 1974, Killington Mountain School is a learning center that offers a variety of educational and extracurricular options to students.
