Members of the Bird Key Yacht Club enjoy the the facility's upscale dining room, boat docks, tennis court, fitness center and ballroom, as well as social events, such as parties and bridge games which organized by the club. There is a 60-day trial period for persons interested in joining, but membership to this exclusive club must be approved by a board.
The Crosley Supper Club offers bay front fine dining at the Powel Crosley Estate. The Crosley Supper Club is open to Crosley Foundation members and their guests as well as to the general public with supper club membership. All dinners and events are catered by Milan Catering and Event Design. Reservations and tickets are necessary in advance for supper events, which are held on a more or less monthly basis. The Crosley Supper Club also hosts private parties, corporate events and rehearsal dinners. The Crosley Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to the historical and educational upkeep of the Crosley Estate. Several levels of membership are available.
The Sarasota County Fairgrounds is a an event venue that hosts weddings, concerts, conventions, festivals (including the the Sarasota Medieval Festival) and the annual Sarasota County Fair. There are numerous buildings on site, with covered seating for 50 - 4000 people.
The Sarasota County Fairgrounds is also the site of Robarts Arena, which hosts sporting events such as boxing, martial arts, gymnastics, rodeo and indoor football.
The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is home to many concerts, plays, musicals, stand-up comedians and performing artists. Sarasota Bay provides a beautiful backdrop to the Van Wezel. The box office is located on the east side of the building and the entrance is on the north. The Van Wezel opened in 1970 with a performance of Fiddler on the Roof.
The Meadows Country Club has golf course, tennis courts and a racquet center. It's full-service and membership options can be seasonal or annual. Beautifully decorated and landscaped, for those that love the outdoors, the area has plenty of walking and biking trails. Members can also enjoy the 5,000 square foot new gym and Olympic-size swimming pool. There are shops and a restaurant on the premises.
