The United Way of Rockland County is an independent non-profit organization with the goal of strengthening the Rockland community. Its primary focus is aiding needy families, children and elderly. United Way offers human service and health programs to Rockland residents by bringing together citizens and charitable organizations. Some of its recent initiatives include campaigns to change conditions that lead to violence, introducing child care tuition scholarships, providing emergency food and shelter programs and expanding early literacy efforts.
