In 1959, the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce began when a group of businessmen, who met at Pettibone Tavern, decided to form it. What began as a retail merchants' organization has evolved into a diverse and active chamber with more than 500 members, representing all types of businesses. Today, the Simsbury Chamber boasts that it is the seventh largest chamber in the greater Hartford region.
Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association is located on West Street, just off Hopmeadow Road in Simsbury. It has as a mission to minimize injuries and property loss from fire, hazardous conditions, rescue situations and other disasters by providing life and property conservation, emergency and educational services.
