The Humane Society of Scott County, also known as HSSC, is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1902. It provides shelter and care to more than 7,000 lost, abandoned and unwanted animals each year in Iowa. The organization offers information to the public on animal care and safety, pet overpopulation and the importance of spaying and neutering through educational programs in schools and civic organizations.
