Founded in 1954, the Western Municipal Water District is a supplier of drinking water. It offers wastewater disposal and water resource management services. The district operates and maintains domestic and industrial wastewater collection and conveyance systems. It serves more than 24,000 retail and wholesale customers and consists of over 500-square-mile area of western Riverside County in California. The Western Municipal Water District sells more than 125,000-acre-foot of water annually. It also provides contract operation and maintenance services for neighboring jurisdictions. The district also has several wells for pumping groundwater. It is a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority. The Western Municipal Water District is located in Riverside, Calif.
