Founded in 1976, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center is a lakeside resort that offers entertainment opportunities to large groups, families and individuals. The center organizes running and sculling camps. It also hosts weddings and civil and family reunions. The center offers home-style meals with vegetarian options. The Craftsbury Outdoor Center hosts Elderhostel programs, including studies of natural environment, local wildlife, area history and culture, yoga, music, dance and cross-country skiing. The center also offers apartment-style accommodations and private lakeside cottages. It works with the Green Hotels in the Green Mountain State program, which is an environmental technical assistance and business recognition program. The center makes various charitable donations.
