Army Residence Community, founded in 1987, is a nonprofit organization that offers independent cottages and apartments to retired military officers. It offers a variety of services, such as grounds maintenance, housekeeping, trash removal, scheduled transportation, shopping assistance, and real estate and tax planning. The amenities offered by the organization include dining rooms, swimming pool, spa, exercise and fitness center, chapel, library, beauty shop, barber salon, lounge facilities, tennis courts, walking paths and guest suites. It also provides a variety of recreational activities, including outdoor trips, woodworking, sewing, art and dance lessons, aerobics, and billiards and card games. Army Residence Community is located in San Antonio, and is accredited by the Continuing Care Retirement Community.
