Zoar Outdoor is one of the leading outdoor adventure centers in the Northeast. Established in 1989, it features a kitchen, retail shop, and on-site camping and lodging facilities. The center also maintains several hiking trails. Its campground includes more than five tent sites and over 10 cabin tents. Zoar Outdoor provides white-water rafting trips, canoeing instruction, rock climbing classes, kayaking and fly fishing clinics for adventurers. It also offers bikes and kayaks on rent. The center additionally maintains a fleet of nearly 15 self-bailing and approximately nine bailer rafts. Zoar Outdoor s shop offers a range of apparel, paddles, personal flotation devices and helmets manufactured by Mad River, Dagger, Perception, Riot, Liquidlogic, Wavesport, Necky, Pyranha and Jackson. Located in Charlemont, Mass., the center is a member of the American Canoe Association, Deerfield River Watershed Association and Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
