Originally established in 1935, the original Wickford Yacht Club on Cornelius Island, was destroyed in 1938 by hurricane. The present location, on Pleasant Street in Historic Wickford Village, was established in 1968.Their mission is "to foster the sport of yachting and to provide suitable facilities and activities for its members." Wickford Yacht Club is a private, members only organization of about 100 members. Applications are available.
