Cougar Vineyard and Winery is located in Temecula Wine Valley, just a short distance from the center of Temecula. The owners purchased the vineyard's property in 2005, and they have close to two decades experience in wine crafting. An exceptionally beautiful vineyard, ribbons are attached to the different vines, which spin and sparkle as you approach the hill-top tasting room. There are regular tastings, and plenty of seating for patrons to enjoy the wines and sights of the Cougar Vineyard and surrounding landscape.
Cane Vandehoof is the owner of Miramonte, a vineyard and winery established in 2000. Every Friday and Saturday night Miramonte hosts live entertainment; every third Thursday is for artists. It is currently expanding its 44 acres.
The Frangipani Estate Winery is located a short distance from the city center on de Portola Road. The winery has been open since 1989, and currently produces upwards of 4,000 cases of wine a year. Tasting rooms are open daily, and there is a shaded patio that overlooks part of the vineyard for customers to relax and enjoy the wines. The winery can also host private events if scheduled in advance.
Monte De Oro features a tasting room and offers tours. The tasting room features a 180-degree view of Temecula Wine Country, as well as a view of the barrel cellar from above, through a glass floor. The "Traditional Tasting Experience" includes 6 tastes and costs $10 per person and the "Private Tasting Experience" last 60 minutes, includes 6 tastings and a cheese plate and costs $25 per person. Wine types offered include Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and more.
The Leoness Cellars vineyard, located only a short drive from downtown, was founded in 2003 by two longtime Temecula residents. The property is lush and elegant, with abundant patios and seating where patrons can relax and sample wines. Leoness Cellars offers tours, wine clubs and regular tastings.
The Churon Winery is best experienced at its nearby Inn. The Inn at Churon Winery is a bed and breakfast built in antique French-style with each room named after a favored grape. One of the suites features his and her porcelain bathroom sinks, a sleigh bed and island jacuzzi with fireplace. Churon's wine tastings are only $5 and include a souvenir glass. Have gourmet sandwiches, meats and cheeses with that tasting glass and enjoy the beautiful view.
The Californian is a daily newspaper run by the North County Times, a media company based in northern San Diego County. The location includes a newsroom and sales offices. Residents can buy subscriptions or offer news tips here.
Wiens Family Cellars is a winery located on rustic Via Del Ponte, just off of Rancho California Road in the community of Temecula. Wiens specializes in whites like Viognier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris, and reds such as Petit Sirah, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a selection of dessert wines. Wiens' tasting room offers wine club memberships and vineyard tours, and carries a selection of gifts, souvenirs, and wines. The winery will gladly host weddings and any special events.
The Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association is located off Rancho California Road on the grounds of the La Cereza winery. It is an organized group of winegrower that meets monthly to discuss the latest in grapes, wine and the valley in which they grow them in. The association also can help tourist schedule tours, as well as find wineries to hold their weddings at.
