Based in Milan, Tenn., Milan Express was founded in 1969 by Tommy Ross with one tractor, one straight truck and two trailers. The company offers an array of services, including LTL and expedited service, warehousing, consolidation, distribution, truckload/shuttle service/flat bed and storage trailer rental. In addition, the company had revenues of more than $141 million in 2004. Over the years, Milan has also expanded its capabilities by purchasing all or part of the assets of several companies, including Roadmasters, T.F. Express, Porter Transfer, Ace Trucking, Senter Cartage, Hiller Truck Lines, WATCO, Transmobile and West Brothers Transfer and Storage.
