Colossal Cave Mountain Park is a heritage site that is located in Vail, Ariz. It provides a range of tour options, including regular and wild cave, ladder, candlelight, riding stable and trail ride. The park s cave features formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, boxwork and helictites. Colossal Cave Mountain Park also features Butterfly Garden, which provides a view of the full lifecycle of butterflies. In addition, the park features an Analemmatic Sundial, which consists of a central calendar grid and an ellipse that shows hours. Discovered in 1879, Colossal Cave Mountain Park has various buildings, walkways, wiring and handrails. It offers day, breakfast and dinner rides. Colossal Cave Mountain Park is registered on the National Register of Historic Places.
