Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple is located off Samammish Parkway in the heart of the residential district. You turn the corner and, suddenly, there it is before you, at the end of a short road looking both grand and humble. The entire street smells of the incense used at the temple, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere.
The temple was the first of the True Buddha Schools founded in Seattle, circa 1985. The temple has a large main shrine with seven Buddha statues and multiple levels. There are also two mandala murals for meditating on, as well as ancestral altars.
The temple is open to visitors daily and holds a group meditation each Saturday night. The calender of events is available on the website and includes lunar offerings, New Year celebrations and ceremonies.
