This station is home to the FHP's Bradenton District and Troop F headquarters. The district is commanded by Capt. John F. Baumann, whose staff includes one District Shift Commander, four Sergeants, six Traffic Homicide Investigators, 17 Troopers and four Senior Secretaries.
The building is dedicated to the memories of Sgt. John C. Baxter Jr. and Trooper Jeffrey Dale Young, who gave their lives in the line of duty in Manatee County.
The Detention Center is a 72-bed facility that serves youths from Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties who have been detained by various circuit courts. The average length of stay in secure detention is about two weeks.
Approvied visitors - parents, grandparents and legal guardians - must have a photo ID.
The DCF's Bradenton Service Center is a child care licensing office. It also helps administer the ACCESS Florida Program, which is responsible for public assistance eligibility determination and ongoing case management of food assistance, temporary cash assistance and Medicaid.
Families in need can apply for any of these programs online or in person at the center, which is located in an office park just off Cortez Road.
