Located just off of Little River Turnpike beside the Wendy's entrance, Annandale Swim & Tennis Club offers a variety of swim and and tennis activities for adults and children of all ages. There are dive teams and the club has tennis lessons available for those wishing to learn how to play. The club frequently hosts family dinners, sports banquets and other events for its members. The club can also be rented out for parties and other social events.

Forest Hollow Swim Club is open to patrons via membership. Although members are mainly from neighborhoods in the vicinity, club membership is open to all. Members can take swimming lessons and participate on a swim team. The staff is friendly and professional—they take pride in promoting the feeling that the club is "one big family."

Thompson Road Pool is a community pool for the Strathmeade Square community. It is owned and managed by the neighborhood association board, Sequoia Management. It is situated, within walking distance to and from nearby homes and schools. It is open for the community during the summer.

Long Branch Swim & Racquet Club a private, members-only pool and is home to the Long Branch Dolphins division 11 swim team. The pool ranges from two-and-a-half to 12 feet in depth, and features a bright yellow waterslide in the deep end. Broyhill Crest Recreation Club has been serving this community for over 55 years. It is revered locally as the "neighborhood backyard," making it the main stomping ground for the nearby children after school. Kids can swim and play, families can barbeque in the picnic pavillion, and private parties are welcome here.

Wakefield Park is a large park that includes a spacious and popular recreation center, Audrey Moore RECenter. All athletic fields at the park are lit; including Little League fields, softball, soccer/football, basketball fields and tennis courts. There are also walking trails.

The Audrey Moore RECenter offers and array of classes and other amenities such as a pool, a sauna, fitness rooms, a gymnasium, and more. Check the website or call for more details.

ILDA Pool is located near the Willow Woods neighborhood and Canterbury Woods Elementary School. The organization is supported by its group of active members, each of whom is a shareholder in the pool and can vote on how it is maintained. The pool offers children's and adults' swimming and diving programs for instruction and/or competition. Members are also treated to special events, like Friday-night socials at local area restaurants.

Wakefield Senior Center, established in 1985, is located in the Audrey Moore Center at Wakefield Park.  The center serves seniors of the community who are 55 years old or more. Programs include guest speakers, who discuss a range of topics from nutrition to medication, classes, such as yoga, and entertainment. There are also periodic visits from CVS, a Fairfax County Public School Representative, and Capital Hospice. Every last Friday of the month birthdays within that month are celebrated at the center.
